Lindisfarne was Tyneside's best loved band for over thirty years and a multi- media celebration of their music and
heritage’s was devised by ex-members Ray Laidlaw and Billy Mitchell. In the stage show 'The Lindisfarne Story', Billy and Ray perform the songs and tell the tale of Lindisfarne's rise to fame and the people they met and worked with during countless concert tours, recording sessions, festivals, radio and TV appearances.
It's hard to believe that it's over 50 years since Lindisfarne's 'Fog On The Tyne' album was No 1 in the UK album charts and the biggest selling UK album of 1972. In a remarkable career that included a record-breaking 120 appearances at Newcastle City Hall, hits like 'Meet Me On The Corner', 'Lady Eleanor', 'Clear White Light', 'Road To Kingdom Come', 'January Song' and 'Run For Home' are just a few of the classic songs that Lindisfarne produced and that audiences never tire of.
