Due to the increased national threat level, Sheffield City Hall will institute full bag searches at events.

Due to the increased national threat level, Sheffield City Hall will institute full bag searches at events. Drinks or liquids will no longer be permitted in the venue, with the exclusion of sealed bottles of water no larger than 500ml any other items will be removed and not permitted.

This policy is an extension of measures already in place to ensure the safety of our customers, but may cause additional queues and delays when entering the venue. Please bear this in mind when attending events at Sheffield City Hall, keep any personal belongings you bring into the venue to a minimum and adjust your travel time accordingly.

Sheffield City Hall would like to reassure everyone attending the venue that the safety and security of our customers has always been, and continues to be, our highest priority. We are in constant liaison with officers from the government’s anti-terrorism unit to ensure that we are following Home Office guidelines and have up to date intelligence.

Specifically following recent events we are implementing heightened security procedures. We ask that customers be patient and understanding where this might impact on queue times or the prohibition of items permitted on the premises. We will make every effort to communicate this information to customers as quickly and clearly as we can.

We would always recommend customers check the Sheffield City Hall website, Facebook and Twitter pages before they travel and that they arrive at the venue as close to the doors open time as possible to minimise any potential delays in accessing the venue.

We request customers keep the number of personal belongings brought to an event to a minimum and report any suspicious activity to a venue steward.

We do not permit people to bring banners, flags or whistles.  Other restrictions include guns, knives, CS gas canisters and flares.

Filming restrictions are also in place at our events.
