Grammy® Award winner Steve Earle will be touring in support of his new album Washington Square Serenade. Released on New West Records, produced by John King of The Dust Brothers (Beck, The Rolling Stones, Beastie Boys). Washington Square Serenade is heavily influenced by his adopted hometown of New York, even down to the title of the album. A protégé of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, he is a master storyteller in his own right, having had his songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, The Pretenders, Joan Baez and countless others. 1986 saw the release of his debut record, Guitar Town, which shot to number one on the country charts and immediately established the term "New Country." What followed was an extremely exciting and varied body of work. | Date: 10th June 2008 Venue: Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall
