Purchase Tickets Online

Search for your event from our homepage and purchase tickets 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Spot the signs of ticket fraud and protect yourself:

  • Only buy tickets from the venue’s box office, official promoter or agent, or a well-known and reputable ticket site.

  • Avoid paying for tickets by bank transfer, especially if buying from someone unknown. Credit card or payment services such as PayPal give you a better chance of recovering your money if you become a victim of fraud.

  • Be wary of unsolicited emails, texts or adverts offering unbelievably good deals on tickets. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

  • Is the vendor a member of STAR? If they are, the company has signed up to their strict governing standards. STAR also offers an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution service to help customers with outstanding complaints. For more information: star.org.uk/buy_safe

Action Fraud also advises that the public follow the advice of the Take Five to Stop Fraud campaign to keep themselves safe from fraud.

  • Stop: taking a moment to stop and think before parting with your money or information could keep you safe.

  • Challenge: could it be fake? It’s okay to reject, refuse or ignore any requests. Only criminals will try to rush or panic you.

  • Protect: if you think you’ve been a victim of fraud, contact your bank immediately and report it to Action Fraud online at actionfraud.police.uk or by calling 0300 123 2040.

Where Can I Buy Tickets From?

We would like to advise customers to only purchase tickets through the venue, authorised ticket agencies such as those listed below, event promoters, artists’ official websites and their authorised agents to be sure that you are purchasing a genuine and valid ticket.

Sheffield City Hall's ticket and information line is powered by Ticketmaster. www.ticketmaster.com

If you are in any doubt about the people selling tickets, we recommend you contact us in advance and we’ll do our best to help.

Please note that it is against the Conditions of Sale to resell tickets without express written permission of the promoter and we would strongly discourage customers from purchasing tickets via unauthorised sources or ticket reselling services such as eBay, Facebook or StubHub.

The purchase of tickets from non-approved sources can result in customers being refused entry to the concert and being unable to obtain a refund. In the unfortunate event of a postponed or cancelled event the venue will only be able to contact those customers who booked through an authorised agent and will only be able to refund the original ticket purchaser. Holding a ticket does not entitle the holder to either access to the building or a refund should there be any alteration to the original concert details.

Our Ticket Fees Explained

Seeing your favourite band or show is a great experience.  And we’re here to help you enjoy that must-see act, without any unnecessary confusion.

Our ticket prices are transparent and made up of four elements:

1. The Face Value – this is the price agreed with the promoter or organiser of an event.  We work hard with promoters to ensure that this is a fair price.

2. The Booking Fee – this is a charge made to cover the costs of our ticketing service, for example the costs of the ticketing software, call centre and our colleagues.

3. The Facility Fee – this is a small charge that contributes to the upkeep, safety and security of the building to ensure that you enjoy your visit.

4. The Fulfilment Fee – this is the cost of getting the tickets to you, so includes things like postage costs or organising collection facilities

The prices shown in our literature and on our website combines the Face Value and Booking Fee.  This means that the price you see is the price you will pay for your ticket.  You can then choose the best method to get hold of your ticket and any costs for this at the time of booking.

Why do we charge fees?

Sheffield City Hall is a part of Sheffield City Trust, a not-for-profit charitable organisation. We are proud to run some iconic buildings and regularly invest in their maintenance and upkeep. As a not-for-profit organisation, we don’t have shareholders; instead any surplus from ticketing and hosting events are reinvested into our venues and activities to deliver a quality events programme. We work hard to ensure our pricing is fair and transparent.

Sheffield City Hall holds a special place in the minds of Sheffielders. With a Grade 2 listed status, we ensure that any improvements are of a standard befitting the history of the building; this can come at a cost. The facility fee will ensure that you are able to enjoy an event as much over the next 80 years as today.

The charges we make are there to cover the costs of safety and security improvements, our ticketing service; the ticketing software, call centre, counter service and colleagues. For most events, the face value of your ticket goes directly to the event promoter.

How do our prices compare?

Different ticketing outlets and venues have different names for their charges (e.g. Facilities fee, Administration Fee, Suggested Donation) but what’s important is what you actually pay. We work hard to keep prices fair so that you can sit back and enjoy the show.

Sheffield City Hall is part of a not-for-profit organisation, Sheffield City Trust. We don’t have shareholders. Any surplus is reinvested into our venues and activities so that we can continue to provide a rich mix of performances and events for you to enjoy in the future.
