Sheffield City Trust have launched a new ticketing partnership with The Children’s Hospital Charity, offering an optional donation alongside ticket purchases to support Sheffield Children’s Hospital where it is needed most which is currently to build a helipad at the hospital, and helping Sheffield City Trust invest and engage with hard-to-reach communities.

The ticket fundraising initiative led by Sheffield City Trust is a voluntary £1, £3, or £5 contribution attached to all tickets sold across Utilita Arena Sheffield and Sheffield City Hall via online purchases, with half of any donation made going towards Children’s Hospital Charity and the other half going to Sheffield City Trust to fund work in the local community through their outreach programmes.  These programmes specifically focus on getting people more active, looking at new ways to engage with key groups in the community and supporting the physical and mental health and wellbeing of the people of Sheffield.   

Sheffield Children’s cares for thousands of children and young people from across the world, and with the support of Sheffield City Trust and generous event goers, the new partnership will go towards helping to raise the £6m needed to build a helipad on the roof of the hospital.

Currently air ambulances arriving at Sheffield Children’s land in Weston Park and patients are then stretchered across the busy A57 to the Emergency Department.

Having a helipad on the roof of the hospital would save vital minutes when every second counts to get children the urgent care they need from the specialist teams at Sheffield Children’s. Previous fundraising efforts for Thea Children’s Hospital Charity have included an award-winning Christmas light display, which lit up popular landmarks with snowflakes across Sheffield, including a display at Sheffield City Hall, raising over £1m throughout the years it has been running, thanks to the support of schools, individuals, community groups, and businesses.

The initiative is projected to generate significant funding for vital projects across Sheffield, helping to achieve Sheffield City Trust’s ambition of improving the health and wellbeing of our communities.
