Hormonal Housewives: Cast Change
5 Jan 2012
The producers of Hormonal Housewives regret to announce that unfortunately due to ill health Beverley Callard has had to pull out of the Spring Tour, which includes a date at Sheffield City Hall on Saturday 10 March 2012.
While the producers are devastated that Beverley will not be appearing, a fitting replacement has been found and they are thrilled to announce that Margi Clarke has agreed to take the lead.
Not unlike Beverley, Margi has also walked the cobbles of Weatherfield's most famous Street, but in addition to this she's led a colourful career in many different guises. Originally starting out as a lead singer of several Punk bands in the 70s, Margi went on to star in various TV and Film roles while also carving a successful presenting career, most prominently becoming the face of the The Good Sex Guide back in the early 90s.
While Beverley was perfect for the lead in Hormonal Housewives, Margi should be ideal also. Her own individuality and imitable Scouse charm will no doubt make for a highly entertaining performance.
Sheffield audiences will already be aware of Margi's charisma, having already replaced Callard in the role of the Wicked Queen for the Lyceum's smash hit pantomime production of Sleeping Beauty, back in December. Following this, it was hoped that Beverley would be well enough to return to the stage for Hormonal Housewives, but unfortunately this is not the case.
A lively comedy show, Hormonal Housewives follows the lives of three women as they battle against weight gain, weight loss, mood swings, wine, PMS, men, going to the gym, waxing, stretch marks, men, chocolate, upper-lip hair, chocolate, men, chocolate ... and all the other joys of being a 21st Century woman.
