DAVE KILNER: A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
A host of Sheffield’s music elite are lining up to pay tribute to local hero and former radio presenter, Dave Kilner, who sadly passed away last year. With Def Leppard front men Joe Elliot and Rick Savage, Tony Christie and singer songwriter John Parr already on board, another name has now been added to the bill.
Comedian and impressionist Jon Culshaw will now join the all star line up, with the concert due to take place on Friday 30 April 2010 at Sheffield City Hall.
Organisers of the concert are also in further talks with other well known Sheffield names to really make this a night to remember. Further announcements are expected over the coming months.
Born and bred in Sheffield, Dave Kilner was a well known radio presenter in the region who grew to become a local hero. Amongst side endeavors to Dave’s radio career, he was a prominent voice at Sheffield United, pantomime star and massively active in raising funds for local charities. With this in mind, Dave’s widow Shirley and his two daughters Rebecca and Nicola felt that organising this concert would be a fitting tribute to his legacy with all funds going towards a charity that has now been set up in his honour.
