Two old friends return to Sheffield City Hall!

1 Nov 2017

In celebration of City Hall's 85th birthday, the lions have returned to Sheffield where they will be displayed in our venue for all to see.

When Sheffield City Hall opened in 1932, two grand art deco stone lions appeared on stage, facing out into the audience…and stayed there for 30 years.

Removed from the City Hall in 1962 as part of a modernisation scheme, the lions have been on the prowl at partner’s Tarmac offices in Matlock, Ettingshall and Syston.

Samuel and John now stand proud in our main foyer area, come in and see them Monday to Saturday 9am - 5.30pm!

Hearing unforgettable voices, since 1932
