Sheffield City Hall is gearing up for a busy June with four large scale national events scheduled for the month, in addition to high profile shows.
The historic venue will host the four major conferences, each spanning more than two days, as well as maintaining a busy show schedule.
June sees the Obstetrics Anaesthetics Association (OAA), the British and Irish Association of Legal Librarians (BIALL), the Practice Nurse Forum and the National Convention for Safer Communities all holding events in the venue.
The city’s reputation as a conferencing destination is rapidly expanding with large names looking to Sheffield as a desirable location.
Sheffield City Hall General Manager Dominic Stokes said: “The venue’s versatile nature and central location have helped it to cement its position as the region’s leading conference venue.
“The extensive refurbishment of the City Hall, coupled with Sheffield’s impressive regeneration has led to a surge of interest in the city as a national destination.
“June sees us hosting a number of high profile events and the feedback we’ve received from these organisations is that the city as a whole is becoming a more attractive destination.
“Sheffield has a central location and strong transport links which makes access to the city easy and now in addition to such a breathtaking conference venue, the city centre is also undergoing a transformation providing excellent entertainment and a multitude of accommodation options.”
In addition to the conferences which are attracting delegates from across the UK and Ireland, June sees Sheffield City Hall staging concerts as diverse as Derren Brown, Simon Webbe, Andy Williams and Guding Star UK Final – the Girl Guides’ talent competition final.
Sheffield City Hall’s versatile facilities enable it host events ranging from conferences, product launches, exhibitions and banquets to corporate functions, management meetings and training seminars.
The City Hall has worked in partnership with the convention bureau at Yorkshire South Tourism to secure a number of national conferences throughout the year.
