Sheffield City Hall is hoping to help attract scores of international visitors to the city with it’s presence at a major conferencing exhibition.

 

Following its extensive £12.5 million refurbishment, the City Hall is a key player in bringing delegates to the area.

 

And the impressive venue is set to play a significant role at International Confex, the UK’s leading event exhibition.

 

The City Hall is hosting a stand with Conference South Yorkshire at the event at Earls Court, London, to help attract major events to Sheffield and the city business region.

 

City Hall General Manager Dominic Stokes said: “Conferencing and major events play a significant role in the region’s economy with the influx of visitors that they bring.

 

“On a regional level the transformation of Sheffield and the surrounding area is well documented but International Confex is a fantastic opportunity for us to convey the message further a field.

 

“As a venue, the City Hall offers the modern technology and versatile space necessary for large scale events but also has the history and character to add to the ambience and enjoyment of surroundings which can be important when delegates are spending a significant amount of time in a building.

 

“As a city, Sheffield is well located and served for hosting large events that attract an audience from across the country and further a field and it’s important that we remind people of this.

 

“We’re hopeful that our presence at International Confex should draw more visitors to the city.”

 

The venue has already secured four major conferences for June which will see delegates from across the UK and Ireland descend on the city for days at a time.

 

The City Hall can host events ranging from conferences, product launches, exhibitions and banquets to small corporate functions, management meetings and training seminars.
