
Never mind the Buzzcocks funny man Sean Hughes is set to make an appearance at Sheffield City Hall on 19
th September with his all new Live show.
Whilst working part time in a London supermarket he came across the Comedy Store, and was determined to work there in the future. In 1987 he started working in The Comedy Store, and with his show, 'A One Night Stand With Sean Hughes' he became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious Perrier Comedy Award.
In the early 1990s he had his own TV show, Sean's Show, ostensibly set in his own home, which was broadcast on Channel 4.
He later recorded a series of brief programmes called Sean's Shorts, in which he toured England, visiting many of the country's towns and cities, visiting local places of interest and meeting local people.
Until recently, a sardonic team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Sean Hughes started his career as a stand-up comedian by becoming the youngest winner of The Perrier Award.
Several sell out tours later and two series of Sean’s Show for Channel 4, Sean diversified into writing, presenting and acting. Recently co starring with Peter Davison in The Last Detective (ITV)
