Can you recycle it? Yes you can!
Lovable tradesman Bob the BuilderTM visited Sheffield's new bring bank recycling site in Darnall last week, ahead of his live appearance at Sheffield City Hall.  This is the first in a number of new sites which will be introduced to the Darnall and Sharrow areas in the coming weeks, to further encourage recycling in these areas.

Currently appearing across Europe in his brand new ‘green' themed stage show, Spud's Big Mess, Bob took a break from touring to officially open the new bring bank site at B&Q in Darnall with Veolia Environmental Services.  Bob was joined by members of Veolia's Recycling team and Neil Townrow, Waste Management Officer at Sheffield City Council.  There are over 220 bring bank sites across the city to help Veolia manage the 240,000 tonnes of municipal waste created in Sheffield each year.

Of his visit to Sheffield, Bob the Builder said: "This is another great step in reducing waste across the city of Sheffield.  Having built an eco-centre, I know the importance of recycling to protect our environment and I'm looking forward to teaching the children of Sheffield about it when me and my team visit the City Hall in June!"

Martin Simpson, Managing Director of Veolia in Sheffield commented: "We are really pleased to have Bob involved with the opening of the new recycling site in Darnall.  The site has banks for paper, glass, plastics, cans and tin foil, textiles, card, shoes and books.  I think as Bob would say - can you recycle it?  Yes you can!"

For tickets to see 'Spuds Big Mess' on June 6th & 7th, please call the City Hall box office on 0114 2 789 789.
