Wizards, Pigs & Shakespeare at the City Hall
Sheffield City Hall will be welcoming an array of colourful characters as the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra present an exciting mix of classical music at their family concert on Sunday 13th April 2008. Join conductor Tecwyn Evans in a lively concert of orchestral favourites including Capulets and Montagues from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, Storm from Britten's Peter Grimes and the chance to conduct the orchestra in the Wallace and Gromit theme tune.

Children's BBC Presenter Chris Jarvis will be joining the Orchestra on stage, leading you through the show as the orchestra performs each of these musical delights and more. Watch out for the wicked wolf as we hear Roald Dahl's poem ‘The Three Little Pigs', plus enjoy all the magic of Harry Potter as we hear music from the famous films. There will be a big screen so you can see everything up close and if you're very lucky you might even get to conduct the Orchestra yourself.

Everyone is welcome, from Great-Granny to Primary School kids, and you can sing and clap along as much as you like. Plus tickets are just £1 for children! With wizards, swashbuckling sword fights, a terrible storm, Wallace and Gromit, plus all sorts of exciting activities in the foyer before the show, you need to make sure you get there early...

The concert starts at 3pm. Venue: Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall. Tickets costing £19, £12, £7.50 & just £1 for children are available from Sheffield City Hall Box Office by calling 0114 2 789 789 or online at http://www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk/.
